Apprenticeship Success

Published By Alpha Glazing

When finishing High School, I decided to stay on at 6th form to further my education, however I then realised this wasn’t the path I wanted to take and would prefer a learning on the job role and looked into apprenticeships. I advertised my CV into the market place and was contacted by a training company whom had a couple of potential opportunities for me.

Alpha had a role which sounded really interesting and challenging and included a variety of works. Alpha seemed a very ambitious company with good structure and business ethos.

I started my NVQ and placement within Alpha and I quickly adapted into a busy role with reactive and planned glazing projects for large blue – chip companies. I enjoy every day at Alpha as every day isn’t the same, faced with new challenges.

I have gained a huge amount of experience with Alpha including, manning the helpdesk, operationally supporting the team and liaising with clients, engineers and suppliers to ensure jobs run smoothly.

My role was to follow jobs through from call out stage to completed works and invoice ready.

Once my apprenticeship and my NVQ was completed, Alpha offered me a full – time position, after a couple of months, I wanted to broaden my experience and knowledge and develop into a sales and marketing role. I have been fortunate at Alpha to be given this opportunity and have enjoyed the challenge of getting into new businesses and meeting people face to face.

I am ambitious and want to keep building my experience and profile to further develop my career.
